Why does it cost more to travel if you are a single? Hotels for singles are cheaper than for two.?

I am single and want to go on a tour. But they charge much more if you are single. But if I walk into a hotel and get a room it costs less than if I am with another person. There is something wrong here. travelforless4utravelforless4u
